A wise human does not have to be necessarily intelligent nor educated, but what is the correlation between wisdom and intelligence?
Most psychologists agree that if you define wisdom as maintaining positive well-being and kindness in the face of challenges, it is one of the most important qualities one can possess to age successfully.
Remember my blog post on simplicity vs. complexity? Well, yes it’s that simple, no hidden magic to wisdom. Wisdom comes from the universal source of a true inspiration, answers to our most profound questions.
Genuine wisdom is conspicuous through modesty and silence.
“To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.” ― Lao Tzu
“Wisdom is really hard to study — really hard,” says Robert J. Sternberg, a former president of the American Psychological Association who edited “Wisdom: Its Nature, Origins and Development.”
Intelligence comes from our ego personality (mind) and is fully developed over the course of our life.
“Knowledge is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.” ― Albert Einstein
“Reasoning and logic are essential in order to achieve success. But they aren’t enough. They must be instruments and faithful servants, nothing more.” – Mark Fisher
Did you know that Thomas A. Edison had only three months of schooling during his entire life? In fact, Henry Ford had less than a sixth grade.
Excellent post. I am dealing with some of these issues as well..
